Have you always wanted to discover the secrets of Arabic calligraphy?

We offer specialized courses and workshops that bring traditional Arabic calligraphy to life. Our teaching makes learning easy and simple, leaving you inspired and empowered to create your own beautiful works of art.

Start your journey with our workshops and courses where we'll introduce you to letters and how they should be written with the correct proportions and scales.

Let's start with the basics of how to prepare your bamboo pen, as well as the most appropriate writing materials to use to discover the secrets of calligraphy.

Then we move on to the structure of the letters in their individual forms and how to write them whether you are left-handed or right-handed.

• No prior knowledge of calligraphy or the Arabic language is required.

You will learn:

1. A Brief History of Arabic Calligraphy

2. Tools and materials

3. Measuring alphabets using the standard Nuqta system in Arabic calligraphy.

4. Write Arabic letters in a calligraphic style.

5. Write words or sentences in Arabic calligraphy

6. Class project in which students will write their names or a phrase of their choice in Arabic calligraphy style.

What is the difference between a course and a workshop?

COURSE

The course lasts a minimum of 12 hours divided into 5 meetings, each meeting lasting approximately two and a half hours.

Plan:

  1. Theoretical lesson - Introduction to calligraphy, its history, various styles and materials using slide shows (a two-hour lesson)

  2. Practical exercises – learning the 28 letters of the Arabic alphabet, and their names in Arabic calligraphy.

  3. Correct the students' homework assignments in class.

  4. Meditation through calligraphy during class - writing with bamboo quill and ink, listening to Sufi music, in absolute silence!

  5. Class project in which students create a calligraphic picture.

  6. Certificate of participation.

Complimentary tea, coffee and Arabic sweets in our studio are included

WORKSHOP


The workshop lasts 4 hours in a single meeting.
Plan:

  1. Short theoretical lesson - Introduction to calligraphy, the various styles and materials using slide shows

  2. Practical exercises – learning some of the Arabic alphabet, and their names in Arabic calligraphy.

  3. A moment of meditation through calligraphy - writing with a bamboo quill and ink, listening to Sufi music, in absolute silence!
